Recent Electricity Capacity Auction Increases Incentive to Join OSC’s Demand Response Program through CPower

Take advantage: payments set to increase next year!

Earlier this Summer, PJM released the results of their recent electricity capacity auction that apply to all electricity consuming entities. PJM is the governing entity or “power grid” for all electric utility companies in the state of Ohio. Next summer, electricity capacity rates will be increasing by approximately 9x. For more information on how this impacts your electric bill in the future, please read this guidance from Palmer Energy, an energy consultant for the Ohio Schools Council.

A great way to mitigate some of the cost increase in electricity capacity rates is to participate in the OSC/CPower Demand Response and Energy Efficiency Incentive Programs, since the same capacity rates also means that incentive payments for demand response will be increased significantly next year.

For more information about the program, please contact Chad Welker, Director of Business Services at the Ohio Schools Council at cwelker@osconline.org and he will get you in contact with CPower for your free consultation about how your district can participate in the Demand Response Program and your district’s potential financial opportunity.
